One of the problems of being English is that people will insist on offering me tea and coffee, and I absolutely cannot handle it. I hate it, and I betray my nationality everyday. Unfortunately I am I also English, which means that often I will choke down a mug just to be polite- but to be honest its worth it to avoid quizzical looks when I refuse a cup for the 6th time. Which leads me to this week’s post- my attempt to bring myself around to the bitter and utterly miserable taste of coffee.
And how else would I do this……? With cake of course!!! I did a little searching, and decided that cupcakes might be in order, and found this from the BBC- I doubled the quantity and made up my own buttercream. It was roughly 125g butter, mixed with icing sugar and very strong coffee to taste.

And my love affair with Waitrose continues…my boyfriend and I discovered these tiny coffee bean shaped chocolate decorations nestled in the pastel beauty of the baking section. Sigh. And it worked, walnuts, sugar, flour and chocolate definitely improve the flavour of coffee. Thankyou.
Here! A feast for your eyes!
